Condolence: I just found out. I served with Marvin on the USS Jarrett 86-88. He was one of the best bosses I ever had, he was a blast, easy going, great sense of humor. I got to talk to him in 2010 on the phone for awhile and that was amazing to hear from him. He will be missed and never forgotten here.

Condolence: I just found out about Marvin’s passing today and I cannot believe that he is gone. I have known him since he first started working for the county as a consultant many years ago. Marvin always had a smile and always offered a helping hand. I saw him shortly before COVID hit and he was as sweet as ever. My very deepest condolences to his wife Sandy and his family. Hilde

Condolence: Marvin, we spent a lot of time together when you were a contractor working on PC and network issues and later (when we managed to get you with the FCPD fulltime) wrangling all those cellphones. You were always good for a laugh and shake of the head as we tried to figure out how an old soldier and a landlocked sailor ended up where we did. God Bless you and your family.

Condolence: Marvin you were my friend, when I received the news of your passing it was a hard hit for me. I will miss seeing you in the mornings fussing with all your friends in communications especially Kirk 🤣😂. You never did get my name right and I never corrected you, I was Tia and you were friend. I remember our last conversation and you sat on the bench to tell me you would be out for 2 weeks for surgery, I knew then it might be the last time is saw you. You were the toughest man I knew and you never stopped working, you were dedicated and committed to Fairfax County Police Department until you couldn’t anymore. I will miss you but I know you are no longer in pain, I’m happy that you are free from pain. I know how hard this must be for your wife, you loved her dearly. Praying for you all in this time of sorrow. With love, Tianna (Tia)
