Condolence: Steve was a good friend, father, grandfather, patriot, and all around great person. He loved life and most importantly the people in his live. He was a good friend and mentor to me and my family when I started working with CALEA many years ago. We bonded instantly over our love of dogs. I'm sure he is having a great time playing with Rocky and watching over us all. Steve will be greatly missed. Please accept our condolences on your loss. Sending love and prayers your way.

Condolence: Steve was a highly respected professional law enforcement officer. He was always there for advice or counsel and never hesitated to help a friend or coworker. Steve had a personal and professional impact on my law enforcement career mentoring me on many occasions concerning professional challenges.

Condolence From: Ret. Lieutenant R.G. Martin, City Of Fairfax Police Dept.
Condolence: A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again.

Condolence: Steve: What can we say but thanks for being the beautiful person and human being who touched so many lives. We were so grateful to have been graced with your friendship on this place called earth.

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Condolence From: Cousin Mike (Michael J Kennedy)
Condolence: Steve,

Even though we've known each other for over fifty years, we only became close in the past year. My heart was crushed when I heard that your brother Paul went recently, and your unexpected passing squeezed all the pain my soul could take.

You and our uncle, Col. Bob Mason (USMC, ret.), have always been the rocks of the family to me, and your examples to the younger generations, as well as your contributions to our military and law enforcement communities is more than admirable -- I don't have any words to express the pride I have for how you spent your career and your life…. words just aren't enough.

Only three of four weeks ago we said, " let's get together as soon as we can …." Steve, I hope you don't mind if we hold off for a bit ……. but I'll see you in every law enforcement officer and every military uniform for as long as I remain here. You'll always be in my heart.

Your loving cousin,
Mike

Condolence: I met Steve at BUMC. When I moved away from Manassas our friendship continued through Facebook. I loved his throwback Thursday pictures, all that he shared about Patrick and the white squirrel. It was obvious that he loved God, his family and his country. I feel privileged to have known him. My sincerest condolences for your love. May God grant you comfort as you grieve.
