Condolence: Our condolences to the Tyrrell family. This is a big loss to many of us - Bill was a great guy, who lived a great life, and hundreds of us will miss him sorely. We became neighbors in 1987. A day or two after they moved in we had a blizzard and another neighbor and I were getting his kid’s car out of the ditch and getting it started. Nancy came along and said, “If you guys need anything, my husband has a lot of tools.” That was certainly true! That was when Bill and the boys were restoring Porsche 914s. Starting in Bill’s garage, they’ve been doing all my car work ever since, and a good part of the deal has always been being able to hang out with Bill, and Nancy, at the shop. In recent years, Avery and Ella have been classmates of two of our grands, so cars and politics could take a back seat during our chats. One time at stoplight in Burke Center, I’m doing a left turn at a light, in a quick car, and Bill blows by me on the outside. A few months later I bought his car. A few years later, after I sold the car, he confided in me he was sorry he’d sold it to me. Turns out the wheels on the car were very rare, and when I sold the the car the wheels were worth more than the car! I took comfort in the fact that if Bill could make a mistake on a car, (a Porsche, no less) what chance did I have?

Condolence: Billy Tyrell and Nancy Cotter were close friends of mine since their names were not the same. We were kids in the 50's who enjoyed friendship, companionship, hanging out, double dating and enjoying life. That comradery never waned though the decades swiftly passed so that as we lost our youth, the affection we felt then maintained its strength until today. Of course, I cried upon hearing of Billy's death, but I am happy to have known him as a good and decent human being and someone who I am proud to have called my close friend. I wish Nancy peace in knowing that he was cherished not only by me but by those in our "gang" who knew and loved him as I did. Rest in peace my friend and thanks for knowing you. Rich

Condolence: So sorry Nancy. I so remember over 40 years ago our singing group The Collegians led by Tommy Tucker. Billy played the piano. Can't believe so many years have gone by. So glad we kept in touch all that time. He will be missed. My condolences to you, the boys and grandchildren. Love you a bunch, Sue

Condolence:
Bill Tyrrell is one of our closest and dearest friends. He was always a true gentleman, a joy to be around and the strongest and most courageous man I know. Bill was an executive in the U.S. Government and in business who had many accomplishments. But most of all he was a dear and trusted friend to so many. We will always miss Bill and his positive influence on us all.
