Santa's Helper Freddy

I worked for COL Perkins in Germany at the 21st TAACOM. We were there during Bosnia operations and our headquarters ensure critical full fidelity logistics support. Most of the division chiefs and COL Perkins as our Director spent our youth in battlefield logistics and understood our obligations to the troops. COL Perkins was an easy guy to work for if you demonstrated competence, confidence and results for he was a true professional and very serious about the mission. If you thought ahead or met your mission requirements he was quick to show his infectious smile. But all a knew about him, did not prepare me for a formal Christmas party where our boss played a "not so" straight man Elf to MG Wright who played Santa. I never knew his comedic abilities and the crazy chemistry between him and Chickenman (our CG). I knew COL Perkins as a kind leader, boss, and friend. I am saddened by his passing. Hooah!! Slow Salute.....
