Obituary for Lawrence Michael "Larry " Yack

Lawrence Michael "Larry " Yack
Dr. Lawrence Michael Yack, DPT, who was lovingly referred to as “Lar” by many, was born on December 3, 1951 in Hicksville, Long Island. He passed on April 14, 2021 at the Prince William Hospital in Manassas, VA after his battle with cancer.

He grew up in Hicksville, with two younger sisters Bobby and Lynnie, his parents Adele and Daniel, and “the great” Aunt Marie and Uncle Frank. Here he met his future wife Kandius (Kandi) in the third grade.

He was charismatic and extremely generous to everyone he met. In the neighborhood he was always ready to build a treehouse for a neighbor or to teach the neighborhood kids how to ride a bike. His annual epic Halloween spookhouse is a thing of legends.

He was a practitioner and professor of Physical Therapy. He had a passion for his profession as well as everything golf and Disney. Hosting family and friends at their festive Christmas home became another legendary annual tradition.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Kandius Yack; his son Jeff and daughter-in-law Vi; his daughter Michelle, future son-in-law John and grand-beagle Betty; his two loving sisters and their families; and countless friends and colleagues who will forever be touched by his example.
